To start, it's probably important to mention that there is a possibility that this person was not a ghost. However, the occurrence was just strange.
One night a friend of mine and I decided to go see a movie in Palmdale. We went and saw the movie, and when we came out it was dark, but still really hot from the summer heat.
My friend asked if there was a quicker way to get home, I said sure, so we took another route, which I knew was a little faster, but much more remote. As we were driving through this moonless night I saw something shiny in the distance. Out of the blackness came a cloud of fog, floating over the road, maybe two feet high and in the fog was a 1960s red convertible.
Nobody was in it, and this fog continued for a bit on the road, when all of the sudden I slammed on the brakes because someone was just standing in the center of the road (the body shape looked like a man). I told my friend "we should slow down and check to make sure they're alright," he said "heck no, step on it." I tried my best to get a look at the man as we got nearer to him, but I couldn't see him much. As I looked into the rear-view mirror, he wasn't visible anymore. I'm not sure if that was just a consequence of the darkness or he just disappeared.
This was just an odd event. Either the man was broken down in the middle of nowhere on a moonless night, or this was some kind of paranormal experience. I'm not sure, but because of the presence of a car, I would say it's just a creepy story.
