Question: Voting? What's That?
Recently, Ghostsstory had introduced a new-system that allows members to vote on content submitted throughout the site. This is a great way for members' to gain free-exposure for their own content or other members' content deemed worthy enough to be voted on. Votes on content are tallied and shown at the Vote! section of Ghostsstory.
Question: That's Pretty Cool. How Do I Get Started With Voting?
Currently the content that can voted on is as followed:
-Blogs
-Photos
-Video
-Pages(Groups)
-Polls
-Marketplace Listings
-Events
You'll notice at each of these sections of Ghostsstory there is an icon that says "Vote" like the image below...
Upon clicking this icon, your vote will be tallied for that individual piece of content thus creating a submission at the Vote! area. You can retract votes at any time if you choose to do so by clicking on the vote button again, or within the Votes-section by clicking the X icon just right of the content you'd like to retract.
Question: OK...so Where's That Vote Icon?
Be sure you're not looking for the icon in the index of each section. To vote, you have got to be at the page of an individual piece of content. So click the link that takes you to that persons submission and you'll see it.
Question: I Can't Click the Vote Button!
Are you trying to vote on content you've submitted? You can not vote on your own content!
Question: Can I vote on Quizzes?

Question: What's Shown at the Vote! Section?
The top Block “In the Spotlight” shows the top most rated piece of content over the selected time period. Try to get to 1st place, you may just win a prize!
The left hand side “Top Voters” shows the members who have given the most votes on content around the site. You can also display the members whose content have received the most votes in total.
In example:
Admin shows 10 given votes. Admin has voted 10 times on content around the site.
Admin shows 4 votes received. Admin's content has received 4 separate-votes.
The Center “Top Ranked Content” shows the top ten most voted content.
Below Top Ranked Content is “Latest Votes”. This shows the10 most recently voted on content submissions.
Question: How Can I Receive More Votes on my Content-Submissions?
For Blogs try following these guidelines:
Write quality-stories. Do not use slang or internet lingo like “lol”. Use full sentences, punctuation, paragraphs and proper-grammar. It's recommended to type your submissions into word processing-software first(Microsoft Office, Open Office and etc) run spell-check after you had typed your submissions! A good story must be written well and easy to read!
Video:
Don't share anything that's very obviously fake unless you designate for the proper-category. If you post fake-crap and try to pass it off as real, we'll know! Try to share video that is your own, detail as much as you can about your experience. Point out areas of interest or audio to listen for! Again quality content will shoot you to the top!
Photos:
Don't submit photos of orbs! These are usually easily dismissed as being connected to some other source in most cases(dust, condensation, bugs, dirt, etc). Rather, share photos of apparitions, ectoplasm, things not easily determined or not as easily debatable. Of course, with the paranormal, it's hard to say what's real or not without actually witnessing an experience first-hand. Be authentic...again, write clear, concise-descriptions of what's seen in the photos. Also, stay clear of sharing shaky-photos. These are easily dismissed as well.
Pages:
Create Pages with “How would this benefit those that visit my page”?. What would a good page consist of? How about as much info about yourpage as possible. Write in proper-English. Describe your intent, what you do, who you are as clearly as possible. Most importantly, don't abandon your page! Keep content, info, events, etc all up-to-date!
Polls:
Create unique, fun polls. Create polls others would really enjoy taking. Ask yourself, if this was another member's poll, would I enjoy it?
Marketplace:
Sell something that's unique or popular among the community, EMF-detectors, audio-recorders, cameras. Detailed descriptions of course!
Events:
Again, be concise. Give as much information about the event as possible. Keep it up-to-date and edit accordingly.
